Electric chain hoist hoist uses gears to multiply force.

This large cog is on the same shaft as another smaller cog.

There is a power increase equal to the larger divided by the smaller cog.This smaller cog drives a cog on the lifting Electric chain hoist wheel with another power increase and speed decrease. Total power gain is 30 times .
