Electric chain hoist

Electric chain hoist hoist uses gears to multiply force.

Electric chain hoist hoist is operated by hand. An operator pulls the light loop Electric chain hoist on the side of the Electric chain hoist hoist. This turns a gear mechanism inside the Electric chain hoist hoist housing to turn the Electric chain hoist pulley. When this pulley turns, it raises the heavy Electric chain hoist which usually has a hook on the end. By pulling the light Electric chain hoist loop, the manual hoist is actually able to increase the force that is being applied by the heavy Electric chain hoist. This is caused by the gear ratios inside the manual Electric chain hoist hoist. The mechanical work done by the operator is the same as the work done by the heavy lifting Electric chain hoist.

The endless Electric chain hoist convenient way to apply force to a large diameter Electric chain hoist wheel. This wheel is on the same shaft as a small cog. There is an increase in the mechanical force applied to the Electric chain hoist in the ratio of the larger diameter wheel divided by the small diameter cog. If the diameter of the cog is 1/5 the diameter of the Electric chain hoist wheel, the force at the cog is 5 times the applied force.The small cog drives a larger cog. There is a power increase equal to the ratio of the large cog divided by the small cog, and a decrease in the rotational speed of the larger cog equal to the small cog divided by the large cog.

This large cog is on the same shaft as another smaller cog.

There is a power increase equal to the larger divided by the smaller cog.This smaller cog drives a cog on the lifting Electric chain hoist wheel with another power increase and speed decrease. Total power gain is 30 times .
